Gone fishing

So, I've been working at the same job for the last 6 1/2 years and I think it's high time that I sucumb to my natural wanderlust and desert my flatmate in her hour of need (she's getting married in April - what would you do?). The plan to date is to hand in my notice and travel around south east Asia and Australia for a while before returning to good olde blighty. Or maybe I'll just go fishing...

Another day, another airport

G'day from sunny Brisbane!

After staying up long enough to see the little image of the plane I was in cross the equator, the travel sick pills I took kicked in and I slept my way to Brisbane, Australia! How exciting, my first time in the Southern Hemisphere.

My relatives Audrey and her husband Ron and daughter Jill and her two year old daughter, Erin, were there to pick me up. They took me to Australia Zoo where we watched these two crazy guys feeding a crocodile! I took loads of pictures of the crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas however you'll have to wait as I probably won't be at a real computer (as opposed to an internet kiosk) for some time. We got to pet the kangaroos and koalas and even feed the elephants. It was a good day out and a great introduction to Australia.

Dinner in the evening was at Audreys son's house and we had an all Aussie barbie with massive steaks from Audrey and Ron's farm with pineapple (!) and fresh salad. Little Erin kept us all entertained throughout as she pretended to be a cat.

I can't stay long, I'm at an internet kiosk in the airport and they've just called my flight for boarding. I'm off to Cairns now to join a group which will be making our way down the east coast of Australia for the next couple of weeks.

Catch you later...

Is half of St.Helen's out there with you Vaniah? Can't believe you went swimming with sharks.... Am sitting high on the 38th floor not doing anything as exciting as you. Glad to hear that the churches are good.
